THE TRAVELLIST ISSUE 2
RYNER ST JOHN
Editor-in-Chief // Australia
I was born in Taiwan, an island nation in South-East Asia, but grew up in the great land
down under. My hometown is Perth, Australia, which is one of the most laid back cities you
will ever find. A graduate from the International Film School of Sydney, I have directed a
number of short films, produced a music video which saw rotation on MTV Russia, and was
a laureate for the 2012 Les Nuits Photographiques festival in Paris. My interests encompass
themes that explore and question the human condition, focusing on the notions of identity
and how we view ourselves in the world. Upon graduating from university, I spent the
majority of my twenties experiencing life on the move – most notably one year spent in
London, followed by two years in Sydney and then another year in Estonia. The place I
want to visit most in the world is the French town of Carcassonne. The other place I really
want to visit is the Hill of Crosses in Siauliai, Lithuania. I like Spanish people, I think they
have a very unique culture. I love Estonia!
