FROM THE EDITOR

I ’ m writing this text somewhere above Europe on a flight from Bulgaria back to my home in The Netherlands . Over the last few months , it happened a few times that I got strange , almost dismissing looks when I mentioned I had a place I considered home . “ You have a home ?!” they asked . “ So you ’ re not actually a digital nomad ?” like it ’ s a special badge . Later on at Coworking Bansko I started thinking about all the different ways we shape our lives . Some people there had no place they called home at all . Others did have a home and saw their trip as a holiday during which they ’ d still need to put in a few hours of work . And then there were others in the grey area , like me , having a home base they return to after every trip , but who are often gone for weeks at the time . Does is matter ? I don ’ t think it does . I think the one aspect that makes us feel so like-minded , is the fact that we all shaped our lives in ways that work for us personally . We all realized that we don ’ t have to stick to the 9-5 cubicle jobs and we all found ways that simply worked better for us . Digital nomad , location independent or remote worker – whatever badge you may wear , we all understand that your life isn ’ t about work , but that work should be about your life . And we all make it happen . Till next time , Thalassa
