“ The desk regularly goes through intervals of heightened stress and intense activity, so having real trust and confidence in your colleagues is paramount. And since we spend so much of the day glued to the screens together, it helps enormously that we get on well on a personal level too.”
‘ Moving up the complexity curve’ Technology and data – understandably sitting firmly at the centre of NAM’ s trading operation – is not simply viewed as operational support, the team tells The TRADE, instead used as a true source of competitive edge.
“ Data is what allows us to make better informed decisions – it’ s also what lets us be both consistent and scalable,” says Folke.
“ Our principle is best-of-breed: where the market offers bestin-class systems- order and portfolio management, cross-asset execution, FX and fixed income trading, independent pre- and post-trade analytics- we ' d rather partner than reinvent, and benefit from the wider industry ' s technology budgets.”
