On the fixed income side of NAM’ s team is Anuj Thakur, who assumed responsibility for leading the high touch fixed income trading team two years ago.
The team trades credit- both bonds and derivatives- as well as covered bonds, servicing a range of internal investment strategies including credit, rates, fixed income asset allocation, and systematic fixed income.
Thakur shares:“ The diversity of those mandates means we are constantly navigating different risk frameworks, liquidity profiles, and investment horizons, which keeps the work both demanding and intellectually stimulating.
“ Ensuring best execution across all of those strategies simultaneously requires strong coordination and a clear

on the desk own their specialisms- equities, fixed income, cross-asset, futures, quant and technology, and implementation.
“ The desk operates as one team with a shared goal. The two of us as co-heads try to set that tone: complementary rather than duplicative, aligned on direction but quick to give traders the room and the responsibility to make the call.”
The desk covers a broad and interconnected set of asset classes and strategies. The TRADE spoke to several of the key members of the team, including Eugene Seo, head of equity trading. Seo manages the team of equity traders based in Copenhagen- covering high touch, electronic and programme trading in global equities.
Speaking to what makes the team effective, Seo highlights the two main factors NAM is focused on:“ Making use of evolving technology and continuously integrating data into our execution process […] for an equity desk, they ' re fundamental to everything we do”. understanding of each portfolio ' s priorities at any given time […] Each trader has a defined sector-based focus as well as dedicated secondary coverage responsibilities, which creates clear ownership while also ensuring there is always sufficient depth and continuity across the desk.”
Last, but by no means least, The TRADE spoke to Kamilla Müller, head of implementation, which sits between the portfolio managers and the trading desk.
The team handles cross-asset order generation, translating investment decisions into actual trades and make sure that decision gets implemented effectively and efficiently.
