COJCL STATE CONVENTION
Beautiful Estes Park, Colorado, the home of COJCL State Convention
Salvete omnes! I’m Vivian, your 2016-17 Editor and your 2017-18 COJCL President, here to give you a rundown of our spectacular 2017 COJCL State Convention that happened this past April 6th and 7th at the YMCA of the Rockies in gorgeous Estes Park. This year, we had a total of 300 attendees (delegates, chaperones, and officers all included) representing eight schools in Colorado. COJCL Convention attendees participated and competed in academic tests, graphic arts contests, performing arts contests, and competitive certamen (winners listed on pg 7) throughout the whole first day. In addition, COJCL hosted a session of Latin sight reading, Saltatio, the ever popular Disney movie Hercules, and guest Tim Smith hosted a game of Versipellis (the game of Mafia or Werewolf in Latin). Of course, the perennial favorites, open mini golf and rollerskating, generously provided by the YMCA of the Rockies, were frequented by JCLers throughout Convention.
