Philippine Cup is arguably the most important conference for the Philippine Basketball Association. It is the first conference to kick-off the season, the one where local players can show their wares, and the one where everyone can compete. Looking at the PBA history, you’ll see that some teams dominated it. You have Crispa with 6 championships, Purefoods with 5, and there’s our team, Talk N Text with 5 as well. Starting from the 2010-2011 season, Talk N Text was able to defend their Philippine Cup trophy three times which made them claimed the Jun Bernardino Trophy permanently.
This 39th season of the PBA, our team is yet under a different challenge, that is to defend the title for the fourth time. The team will be motivated; more that the history and record attached to it, the team is more than looking forward to bounce back after a forgetful campaign towards the end of the last season. They end up not getting through the quarterfinals which was so unlikely of a team their caliber. They have their reasons too, for after all, the team had their main players and coaches trained and played for the National team, plus some new players along the way. After the sad defeat for the last conference of the season, all had promise, they will bounce back.
