family
tradition
At Camp Tejas, we introduce Christmas
with over one million lights creatively
displayed in trees, on buildings,
as tunnels, and dancing to music.
Building on the first year’s foundation,
Lights of Tejas 2011 was an enormous success!
2010’s attendance was approximately 3,100 guests
over twelve nights, with our most attended night
hosting 620 guests. In 2012, attendance more than
doubled, with 6,600 guests over 19 nights, and a
new record of 795 guests in one evening. Camp
Tejas spent the majority of the fall preparing for
LOT. Ninety-five percent of the lights from LOT
2010 had to be taken down and replaced due to
UV fading from the sun. We updated the color
scheme and patterns of lights in the trees. We
more than doubled the length of the light tunnel.
It’s amazing how popular the tunnel has become!
Three additions this year were a light maze, two
bungee trampolines, and a second light show in
the Marmax, consisting of 78 lighted Christmas
trees flashing to Christmas music. The crown jewel
of LOT is still the light show at the lake. It is a 30
minute presentation of the true purpose of Christ,
