Camp Tejas is excited to announce
that Phase 1 of the Dining Hall Expansion Project is underway.
As Camp Tejas has experienced tremendous growth, we have updated our facilities
to expand with that growth. We have seen the building of additional sleeping
accomodations, conference facilities, and activity projects. Camp Tejas is now able
to sleep approximately 450 guests. Yet, our current dining hall can comfortably
sit only approximately 170 hungry campers. Upon completion, the dining hall will sit
400 guests indoors, and an additional 200 outside. Before the additional seating
can be accomplished, however, the kitchen must be updated to more safely
and efficiently provide quality food service for our guests. The kitchen area
is the focus of Phase 1. This phase provides more sufficient electrical service,
double the amount of cooler and freezer space, a new cold preparation area,
a new tray drop off area, and new restroom facilites. These improvements will
impact food preparation, traffic flow, cleaning processes, and guest experience.
