What would Jesus do? Far away from home in South Korea, Hyo-Jae Kong said it would not be easy to be an international summer staff member without help from God. 25 | Pages 2012 This is my first time in America. Everything is so new since I arrived at Camp Tejas on May 14th. First is the language and then the culture that is so different from Korea. I knew that this summer would be challenging for me. During my first week at the camp, I felt like I couldn’t communicate with anyone. I started to pray to God about it and I knew right then that He gave me a confidence to speak to other SMT even though it was still hard. I realized that even though we are from different places, and speak in different languages, we have one thing in common. We believe in the same God and we are in the same family, God’s family. The second thing that I learned this summer is to look at my situation through Christ’s perspective. I read Mark 4:35-41 that talked about having faith in an uncontrollable situation. I think of what Jesus would do if He was here at the camp. I know that He would be more active in spreading God’s love to people around Him and it helps me to do the same thing. For someone who thought that it would be hard to come and work at Camp Tejas, I would say that it’s hard, but it’s worth it. God will give you the opportunity to grow closer to Him by using a situation in your life. So you can depend on Him.// Thailand Missionary: Lisa Schoeman Population: 48,810,427 Main religion: Christianity 80% Other Religions: African traditional religion 15%, Islam 1.5% Unreached People Groups: Bhojpuri Bihari, Hindi, Jew, Malay, Cape, Urdu Languages: Zulu, Xhosa, Afrikaans Prayer: The Government is corrupt and there are apartheid (racial) issues.
