the little boys called out,
“Can I get a picture with the
camera lady?” Then, after we
took the picture, he gave me
a BIG wet hug! I was known
as the camera lady for the
rest of the week after that! :)”

My experience as an SMT at Camp Tejas
was nothing short of amazing! It was a wonderful
growing experience that enabled me to build
great friendships, learn how to serve, and grow
in my relationship with the Lord. It truly was a
blessing getting to live and work with such great
Godly people. I could see Christ through each
and every one of them. God showed me so much
about serving. We serve Him by serving others.
That’s what we are to do after salvation, which I
am so thankful for!
Another great lesson I learned is that
there are absolutely no excuses for not serving
God or spending time with Him. No matter how
tired I am, how busy, or whatever the excuse may
be, serving and spending time with God is so
worth it! I’m so thankful God put me at Camp
Tejas for the Summer of 2012. My memories will
forever be in my heart.
