Each new season at Camp Tejas ushers in a season of change. Summer brings the arrival of
new friends and the return of old. Our staff comes together with the Summer Ministry Team to
provide a season of fun where over 6,000 kids are called to focus on the single most important
relationship in their lives, their relationship with Christ. As leaves turn in the Fall, our attention
turns also to the Camp Tejas retreat season. Bare buildings and bunks are filled with beautiful
decorations and comfortable furniture and linens, bringing our retreat guests warm and inviting
accomodations in which to relax and reconnect with one another and with their Savior. The holiday
season brightens each year with the hanging of over a million lights, activities, and a light show
that shares the Gospel with thousands. Though seasons and faces change throughout the year, the
mission of Camp Tejas remains the same, to share Christ with those who’ve not yet met Him, and
to provide spiritual growth to those who have.
The closing of 2012 marks the beginning of additional change for Camp Tejas. We say farewell
to the Jones Family as they enter into a new season of their lives. David, as CEO, and Jennifer, as
Discipleship Manager, along with their three children, have been integral in the ministry of Camp
Tejas for 12 years. Read more about their legacy on page 17.
