MONDAY-THURSDAY >>
The Armor of God
Community Ministry Intern
“I have worked at Camp Tejas for
several years and I thought my time
here was finished because Camp
Tejas had become my comfort zone.
When I was offered the Community
Ministry/Jr. SMT Supervisor position I
was very surprised and thrown for a
loop. This summer, as I have prepared
and led apartment ministries with
the children of Giddings, worked at a
community church with the children
on Sunday nights, delivered Mealson-Wheels, and taken leftovers from
camp to the people in Giddings, God
has really pushed me out of my usual
behind the scenes self. I loved it!”
>>
>> On weekdays, Tejas staff went to Westwood Villa, Shade
Meredith Farley
Tree, Sun Valley, and the City Park to teach the children
of Giddings about the armor of God. Staffers would play
games with the kids, have worship, teach them a lesson,
and have a snack each day.
Meals-on-Wheels
>> Every other Wednesday, Community Ministry Intern
arley
Meredith Farley and Discipleship Intern Nelan Hughes
delivered hot lunch meals and built relationships with
elderly people in the community.
>
WEDNESDAY >>
On the last day of
community ministry,
Camp Tejas provided
a decorated bag
of school supplies
and a bible for each
child at community
ministry.
SATURDAY >>
State School
>> Every Saturday, Rec supervisor Scott Daugherty, Team
Nel
Leader Kaylon Wappes, SMT Alan Horton & Iowa Hawkins,
and Mark Bradbury went to the Giddings State School to
minister and built relationships with the boys there.
“Leading worship at community ministry was a blessing and
and an amazing opportunity to serve the Lord and others.”
-Nate Boyd, SMT Team Leader
