hurch camp is something I look
forward to all year long. It’s the
one thing that I have always remembered and cherished about summer for the past six years.
The Tejas staff has helped us have
a great time at camp by serving and
hanging out with us during the week.
Camp is a place where we can go to
take our minds off of what’s happening
in the world, and instead put our focus
on Christ. Church camp can and will
forever change a person’s relationship
with Christ.
I had a great time at camp this
year, and I learned so much. One of the
many things I learned at camp was that
I need to not just read and hear God’s
Word, but that I should apply it to my
life. As it says in James 1:22, I need to
be a doer, and not just a hearer.
The peaceful environment at Camp
Tejas gave me the opportunity to just
lie back and enjoy God’s beautiful

creation in an amazing way. When I
walked around outside, God’s beauty
was over?owing everywhere I looked.
I experienced Christ not only
through His creation, but also during
the worship services every night. God
truly changed my life at camp. Getting to feel His presence through worship was amazing. It was so awesome
to look around during the service and
see everyone calling out to God with all
their hearts.
God truly revealed Himself to me
at camp. Being able to encounter God
and embrace the freedom He gives us
is incredible. I became closer in my
relationship with God, and I strive to
seek Him daily. I continue to deepen my faith in Christ as I do my best
to serve others and spread God’s love
to those around me. God taught me to
persevere in studying His Word so I
can learn more about Him.
