I was thinking the other day about life. Which does not suprise me at all, I am always thinking about life. I like to think about anything people, places, things, etc. This magazine kind of opened my eyes to a new point of view. Society’s point of view. How I am so influenced by the people and things around me everyday. How I am influenced by my environment without even noticing.
I could tell you something along the lines like never give up, or say a quote by one of the most influential people that have ever lived. I could tell you to go and face your fear. I could even dare you too. But what would that do, those aren’t my own words. This is what I must say; this magazine topic was my passion, what I would never stop searching on google in my life. I could spend forever looking at the brain. I could spend forever trying to figure out my own brain.
I wrote this magazine using the topic of the teenage brain because I want to be neurologist. I want to be a neurologist because the brain is what interests me the most. But I did step out of my bubble, I tried to solve a different issue in our community. I consider myself a pilot of awareness for epilepsy, I have worked with it so much in the past. I know a lot about it. So when making this magazine I wanted to take a step away from it, as you read before, it was not that successful. On the other note I went out of my bubble and met some outstanding individuals in the community that are passionate about this issue. I met the team from Second Chance in Virginia, and Kelly Libermann a local Phoenix Fireman. What they do to try and put an end to underage drinking is amazing and I was inspired by them and their programs.
Thank you to the people at Second Chance and to Kelly Libermann, as well as to all of the other stakeholders that helped me along the way. Thank you to the freshman teachers for opening up my eyes to see the world in a different way. Thank you to my family for helping me along the way. Thank you to my readers I hope you got as much out of this as I did.
Before I say good bye, I must say this. Be passionate about something, find a passion for an issue or a topic. Find out who you are a person, and live your life.
