If students can learn to use the technology wisely and with discipline it can actually help them get their tasks done and completed on time. When students use the school’s computers provided for them, the professors can be able to monitor what they are doing while using them. This can decrease the chance of the student becoming tempted to drift their focus off of their assignment and onto something else. Also, “Computers can help individual instruction which some people see as a way to help ensure that every student is getting the most out of being in school, without being held back by the pace of others, in class or getting lost as the class zooms ahead” (Bowen 3).

Some argue that the classroom is a place for traditional student and teacher relationships to take place and not for the overboard wave of information that technology brings to the classroom. Technology may be seen as a bad thing but it can also have some benefits, “Technology is changing education, but the most important interaction in the classroom will remain face-to-face interaction between teachers and students” (Bowen 1). There’s no question that technology enhances education, as it allows the students to still be able to work from home or their dorm when they are not feeling that well or are having an off day. Once in a while everyone needs to catch a break or have a day to themselves to be able to re-energize. The students are able to have this opportunity because of how technology can provide them with this chance. Technology allows students to go beyond the classroom and research as much as they want on any given topic.

With that being said, even though it may have some cons technology incorporated in the classroom can definitely benefit students. It provides students with resources to widely expand their knowledge and learn more about history rather than what’s in a textbook. Technology will eventually take over the classroom and students will begin to see a change in learning styles so that students will benefit by retaining more information based off of what technology has to offer. Based off of the extensive research on the matter of technology in the classroom it is shown that the pros of the situation overpower the cons. Of course technology will cause some distractions in the classroom but there will be ways to control the number of distractions and keep them limited to a low number. The different resources that technology has to offer will be beneficial to students and will provide teachers with more resources to utilize.
