Instructions:
Pre - activity: The teacher makes questions about the previous words to make sure her students remember them. Then, she shows a powerpoint presentation explaining each one of the words using images (for example, the word paint, and a picture of a boy painting) and the students write them on their notebooks.
Activity: The teacher writes ‘I can’ on the whiteboard. She asks the students to tell her what they can do by making up sentences orally. The teacher uses a single slot drill, making each of the students change the verb when it is their turn. The teacher starts with an example, and then each student starts to say their sentence aloud.
Example:
Teacher: I can jump
Student A: I can write
Student B: I can touch
Student C: I can paint
And so on.
