This is only one of many stories I encountered I was not from this community, but do come from South Auckland and I knew I had to do something to help someone and I didn't know how I was Going to give back. So I created a page called The Planet Humanity Project and once a week my family, volunteers or myself would attempt to do one random act of kindness a week – every random act of kindness was documented on our blog and Facebook page which was then named The Planet Humanity Project "Helping Humanity, One Charity at a Time. The reason behind the name was because we wanted to help on both a national and international level, which is where the "planet" comes in, we also wanted to help real people in real communities that displayed real issues which is where the "humanity" comes in. It is a name that speaks volumes about what the project aims to do in the community.

Over the last 1 year and 5 months we have gone on to make a name for ourselves helping a range of charities – our aim changed and we finally found a project that worked. We found ourselves choosing a charity or community project that was in need within New Zealand and overseas and decided to focus our project on choosing one charity to support for one whole month through asking local stores, supermarkets, big brands, small brands and tonnes of organizations to make a donation of their choice to help the charity we choose support in that month this included vouchers, products, services and more.

Over the last few months our project was able to make donations to Hope Rescue South Auckland, with support from Hills Pet NutritionTM, Purina New Zealand, Jimbos (Bombay Pet Foods Pukekohe, Cathy Lowett, Donna Marie and Angela Rauhihi & Family. United We Stand... Waka of Caring... Rewa with support from Wild Wheat Limited, Just for Kids, Ecostore, City Cake Company, Ballentynes, Pumpkin Patch and Community Fruit Harvesting. Operation Christmas Child Australia/New Zealand with support From the O'Donnell Family, The Rauhihi Family, The Glasgow Family, The Maxwell Family, The Marie Family and more. Give a Kid a Blanket with help from TPHPV (The Planet Humanity Project Volunteers), The Heremaia Family. The Papakura Toy Library, Auckland Fish, Turtle and Reptile Rescue, The Spirit of Christmas New Zealand, Mental Health Awareness Week, NZ Ninja Baking Drop, The Homeless Drop, Sheree's $2 lunches Tauranga and more.

These are most of the charities who we have supported through our project so far which reminded me that our very first project was when we donated to The Homeless Drop they were a group of university students who had planned a walk through the Auckland city to help the homeless by cooking food for the homeless in Auckland City at this time we had a budget of $10 and managed to donate around 20 cans of food to this cause, we will always remember this always as since this day we have received donations to our chosen charities each month which we would have never believed we could do. With a project growing and growing we are in the process of making a book which we plan to feature each service and donator in, but at this stage it's just an idea and we hope to make it a work in progress but to do this we need Sponsorship, donators or investors so as we say at this point it is just an idea and a work in progress, but for now we will continue to help charities in need through the form of donations.
