3 A blast from the past.
Richard Zetteryall from
Creswell, Oregon submitted
this photo of himself
when he was 4-yearsold.
Fishing for sea-run
cutthroat he stumbled into
this summer steelhead
from the Siletz River.
“My father told me that I
bragged about landing this
beautiful fish for a really
long time,” he writes. “I
was hooked from that
point.”
4 Marital bliss! Jeri Runyon
fished Wadda Island
in mid-July last year with
her husband and landed
this 42-pound king. After
20 minutes of fighting
with the fish (and her
husband), she landed it. In
the process they bent the
net over the gunwale getting
it into the boat. And
she’s happy to report that
they’re still married.
5 First salmon! Ron Craft
from Sandy, Oregon
submitted this photo of
his daughter Skylar and
her first coho, which she
caught on the Sandy River.
“She reeled in this beauty

but was still hesitant to actually
touch it,” he writes,
nothing that she did the
bonking.
6 First steelhead! Nineyear-old
Freya Bodenner
hooked and landed her
very first steelhead while
drift fishing the Cowlitz
River near Castlerock,
Wash., with her Grandfather
