Update from the Minnesota-Dakotas District:
Hi! My name is Kate Ross and I am this
year’s Minnesota Dakotas CKI District
Governor. I am a 4th year student at
South Dakota School of Mines and
Technology studying Geology. I have
been a Circle K member for three full
years now and have held many
positions while I have been a member.
I have been Treasurer, Vice-President,
and I’ve been Governor twice. Circle K
is the favorite of my extra-curricular
activities and I’m always excited to go
to meetings every Monday.
Minn-Dak has two events left for the
upcoming year. We are currently finishing up planning on Fall Leadership
Training Conference which will be help in Mankato MN at Camp Patterson
from October 16th-18th. This weekend will be called “Boo Up Some Service”
and will be Halloween themed. Scary decorations, fun foods, awesome
games, and interactive activities will get everyone into the spirit of Halloween
as we reach out, make friends, learn new leadership skills, and have fun!
Minn-Dak’s other event this year is District Convention. This event will be
held late February/Early March and will be held in the newly renovated Days
Inn in Brookings SD. It will be a chance for friends to see each other again,
club officers to learn more about their position, and members to vote for
their new District Officers.
Besides from these fun events Minnesota-Dakotas Circle Kers love to get out
and show their service in their communities. Every club has their favorite
service projects but some of the ones clubs all across the district enjoy are
helping out at animal shelters, getting involved with the local food banks,
participating in local school events, and reaching out to community embers
to raise money for good causes. No two club is exactly alike, but all of MinnDaks clubs sure do love their service!!
