Wildlife Watching Richard Greene Linear Park , honoring environmentalist and former Mayor Richard Greene , is located in the heart of the entertainment district , just north of Globe Life Field . This park is home to the Caelum Moor environmental sculptures created by Norm Hines , each situated along the 1.5-mile loop trail surrounding Mark Holtz Lake . The lake is named after Mark Holtz , beloved broadcaster of Texas Rangers baseball , and is a premier location for fishing and walks along its shores .
Historic Highlight Knapp Heritage Park , as detailed in Downtown Arlington ’ s Arts & Culture History , showcases he city ’ s rich prioneer past . The park features three of Arlington ’ s oldest buildings , offering visitors a hands-on experience to explore the city ’ s pre-industrial era .
Wildlife Watching Meadowbrook Park , established in 1924 , is Arlington ’ s first official park and municipal golf course . Spanning 54 acres , it features a halfmile paved trail , playground , basketball court , and a Monarch butterfly Waystation . It also houses the city ’ s first indoor recreation center , the
Meadowbrook Recreation Center .
Hike and Bike Julia Burgen Linear Park , named after a dedicated Arlington council representative and environmentalist , opened in 2017 near UTA . Located along Johnson Creek , this park features a 2.1-mile trail through an urban ecosystem where residents can enjoy a relaxing stroll amidst nature .
Hike and Bike Honoring former Arlington mayor Tom Vandergriff , this 84-acre park is a true gem for our city . Vandergriff Park features an accessible 1.2-mile loop trail , a 7,500 square foot skatepark , and expansive athletic fields . Vandergriff Park also provides an accessible route to Marrow Bone Spring Park via its 0.46-mile Marrow Bone Linear Park trail , which connects to the loop trail . Marrow Bone Spring Park is historically significant , as it is located at the site of the first treaty signed with Native Americans .
