Rituals and Ceremonies
Every stage of stupa building involves
extensive ceremonial preparation. Tulku
Sang-ngag Rinpoche, one of the foremost stupa masters in the world, visited
throughout the year to guide the Amitabha
Stupa builders and to perform the traditional rituals. Some of these were were
performed at the KPC temple and were
quite elaborate, taking many hours and
sometimes days to complete.
On one occasion Rinpoche conducted
extensive prayers to bless the offerings for
the Stupa’s inner chambers. These included a colorful three-dimensional mandala
constructed as an antidote to poverty and
offered to Dzambala, the Buddhist deity
that symbolizes inner and outer wealth.
