Executive Order
The New Mexico State Office of African American Affairs was enacted by the 44th New Mexico
State Legislature in 1999 under House Bill 909 and established by Executive Order under the
administration of Governor Gary Johnson.
Mission
To study, identify, and provide solutions to issues of concern relevant to the African American
community.
Vision
To be a “Go To” agency in New Mexico on matters relating to methods that improve the quality of life
for African Americans. By providing valuable resources to our constituents, our governor, legislators,
educators, health care professionals, et al, we will ensure access to resources that provide for the
success of all New Mexicans.
