Weekend

STARKVILLE, MS - The 2015 installment of the PGA Golf Management’s Family Weekend brought great weather, food and football together for a fantastic time of community. This year the event took place over MSU’s Homecoming, October 9-11th, as the Bulldogs took on the Troy University Trojans. Approximately 175 grandparents, parents, siblings, and friends joined in the weekend’s festivities.
Friday night played host to the PGM Club’s annual silent auction. Approximately $2,100 was raised from the silent auction. There were several items from the 2015 PGA Championship donated to the Club for auction by Mr. Kyle Cassin, PGA, a 2008 graduate of the Program, former PGA Championships Merchdise Director. Other items that were auctioned included a Folds of Honor Foundation staff golf bag (proceeds donated to Folds of Honor Foundation); MSU-themed, hand-painted reclaimed wood signs; and MSU coach-signed sports equipment.
Each family received a gift according to the class to which their student belonged. Freshman parents received a MSU PGA Golf Management logo cowbell; Sophomore parents received a MSU PGA Golf Management logo maroon sweatshirt blanket; Returning Senior parents received a set of laser-etched MSU PGA Golf Management drinking glasses; and Graduating Senior parents received a maroon and white chevron Mississippi silhouette and white picture frame. This has been a great success and we encourage
families to return each year to receive all four gifts!
On Saturday, the Program reserved a tent just outside of Davis Wade Stadium in The Junction to do some tailgating. Families were able to enjoy great food and the incredible atmosphere of The Junction on game day. The weekend concluded with a convincing Bulldog victory over the Trojans, 45-17, the perfect capstone to a fun event!
On behalf of all PGA Golf Management students and staff, we would like to thank all of the family members and friends that were able to attend this year! We appreciate your time, effort and support of the Program. We hope to see you all again at next year’s Family Weekend!
