Investiture Ceremonies Welcome New Judges Five North Dakota lawyers were sworn in as new district judges in ceremonies after being appointed to their positions by Governor Jack Dalrymple. Judge John Thelan, shown above left at his investiture on September 15, replaces the retiring Northeast Central Judge Lawrence Jahnke of Grand Forks. The other four judges are filling new judgeships funded by the North Dakota Legislature this year. Judge John Grinsteiner, shown above at his investiture September 25, is a new judge in the South Central Judicial District. Shown at left at his September 30 investiture is judge Daniel ElDweek, one of two new judges in the Northwest Judicial District. Judge Kirsten Sjue, shown at left at her October 2 investiture, is a new judge in the Northwest Judicial District.
