day would be one example. Communicate to
your co-workers that it is important to you
that you have certain time to yourself. Be
honest about other commitments and their
importance to you.
Lastly, Santoro urges that you organize. This
means you must set aside the time to plan
your week, and even your month. I have found
this to be invaluable to me-I meet regularly
with my staff to organize our week and our
month. Santoro notes that by organizing your
week you will have a clear understanding
of what you want to accomplish and how
to better organize your time to meet your
aspirations for the week or month.
Another author, Courtney Carrell, writes
that you should look at life as a chapter
book.6 Some moments in life will require
you to focus exclusively on work. This would
be true in trials or during in
