Google making sugar-sensing contact lens
for diabetics
The Google lab known for working on unusual projects like selfdriving cars is crafting a contact lens that could help diabetics
manage blood sugar levels.
"We're now testing a smart contact lens that's built to measure
glucose levels in tears," project co-founders Brian Otis and Babak
Parviz said Thursday in a blog post.
The lens works "using a tiny wireless chip and miniaturised glucose sensor that are embedded between two layers of soft contact
lens material," Otis and Parviz said.
DressmyTV disguises any flat-screen TV as framed art print
Joining the long-standing battle to reconcile technology with interior design, French start-up
DressmyTV promises to make any flat-screen TV blend into its surroundings unnoticed. The solution consists of a removable frame with a built-in retractable fine art print that covers the screen
when it is not in use. The frame and its built-in screen cover are designed to transform any flatscreen TV, regardless of its size and location, into a decorative object. The solution can be installed without the use of glue, nails or screws, so there is no damage to the TV or the wall. A
dedicated remote control allows users to retract the canvas art print when they want to watch TV.
