The VHS marching band finished their marching season in November after many months of practicing and performing their show.
For the season’s theme, their main show, “Talk To Me,” was based on today’s uses of cellphones an how it interferes with communicating with people.
With the uses of the sound board, including sound effects, voice overs, and backdrops, the show had very different from previous performances.
The show has earned itself superiors at MPA and won first place in their recent competition.
“I was in marching band last year, and I have to say we’ve come a long way in improvements,” said band student, Robert Gonzalez.
“We all worked really hard for this and all the practicing paid off because we all did our best,” said band student, Hanna Brown.
Their practice schedules have range from many hours which has prepared and led up to their performance at the Sickles High school band competition against over 20 other bands in their section.
“Even with a flat tire on the bus, a muddy field, and rain I believe that we did the best we could under the odds,” said band students.
“This season has been enjoyable, I really enjoyed performing on the field, meeting new people and seeing old friends again,” said Gonzalez. “Everyone was working hard to make the best of the season.”
