The Stamp Act February 2014 | Page 2

Hello, Let me introduce myself. My name is Elizabeth. I am fifteen years old. I have long brown hair that maybe goes down to my mid back, I don’t really know since I wear my hair up in a ponytail most of the time. I’m probably around 64 inches tall. I have pale blue eyes, and big black framed glasses for my terrible vision. My hobbies include reading and writing, and my favorite subject in school is history. I love history because it is so interesting! I am not like a normal teenage girl. I read books that were written before I was born, while other girls read 3 word text messages. I live in Sims Conn with my mother Emily, father Jackson. I am the only kid in the house. My family and I live in Sims Conn, it’s short for Simsbury Connecticut. Nobody calls it that anymore though. The year is 2114 so everything now is abbreviated. Now I’ll explain my family. Starting with my mom. Her name is Emily. She is 43 years old, but she likes to pretend she is 33. To be honest, she looks pretty good for her age. Personality wise my mom is pretty strange. She calls me “Liz” and “Lizzie” all the time. She feels that my name is too long and old sounding. She wants me to be like all the other girls with those simple modern names. My dad Jackson on the other hand is the complete opposite. He loves the name Elizabeth. He named me after a queen in England name Queen Elizabeth. My dad was the one in the first place to get me interested in history. As a kid he would always read me textbooks the way other kids were read short stories. Right now I take honors History in school. You probably feel bad for me, but I actually love it! There are only 3 people in that class including myself because nobody cares for history that much. All we learn about is a hundred years ago all people had were iPhones and cars that can only drive on the ground. They didn’t get to have time machines, and hover cars. Even though history is my favorite subject in school, I think we should learn more. All we learn and talk about is the 20th century. I want to learn more about the 1700s and all the important events. Like the French and Indian War, The Stamp Act, and the Declaratory Act. Now that I think about it, it be so cool to live through all those events.
