The lectures will be held in The Sunflower Foundation Lecture and Recreation room which is currently under construction and requires sponsors. The Foundation’s sponsorship plan is
Comprehensive and divided into categories of Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each category signifies the sponsor’s level of contribution to the Foundation.
But it doesn’t stop there.
She is currently organising a select team to work with women and informed me that she “will also be one of the counsellors due to [her] experiences”. She invites anyone who is interested in working as a counsellor to contact her.
As the primary judge of the “All Eyes on Me” contest, I noticed her clarion call for “creators”. I asked her why creators were necessary to her project.
“Yes. I asked for creators to assist in providing apartments to our women…I believe that having a home and the private space it offers does wonders for self-esteem. I envision simple apartments with basic amenities for living but also a touch of style.”
As a new venture, the Sunflower Foundation is off to a positive start but also has a way to go. Assisting women in finding nurturing and reliable families and setting up an adoption service is Samie’s next ambition once her lecture series is underway. Her excitement and trepidation was all-too-evident when she quietly murmured: “I am just praying for the right workers and sponsors to join us.”
