ChancesKaVaciea: First I'd like to thank you for giving us this opportunity to talk with you
Lyburtii: ty for having me.
I'm honored. and thank you for asking me. I'm very grateful to you.
ChancesKaVaciea: your very welcome
ChancesKaVaciea: I'd Like you to share a little about yourself?
Lyburtii:I'm Christian, both on and off IMVU.
When I first came onto IMVU, I came on with the view this was a game. The longer I'm here, the more I realize this is a social conduit for many many people.
We come on here as an avatar, but behind that avatar is a human being. So I come on everyday representing my real self. I live in the Midwest, but was born in the South. In real, I'm a mother and grandmother. I'm a life-long learner. I take advantage of opportunities whenever I can and I'm an avid reader and love a good book. I got turned on to history in college. Here on IMVU, I'm a mother and soon-to-be wife. I'm founder of The Wedding Network. I've practiced law here on IMVU; I've done and still do some couple's and individual counseling. I spend a good amount of time working on my IMVU catalog when I'm not preparing weddings and I get out and socialize when I can.
ChancesKaVaciea: you have quite alot going on here in the imvu world and real life also
Lyburtii: I like to keep busy.
ChancesKaVaciea: We wouold like to focus n your business here..The wedding Network
Lyburtii: sure.
ChancesKaVaciea: How did that come about?
Lyburtii: It wasn't something I set out to do. I had only beeon on IMVU a few months and had begun to make friends. One of them was going to her daughter's wedding and invited me. This would be my first wedding, so I was excited to see how it was done. when we got to the wedding, we waited quite a while, but the officiant never showed up.
She asked me if I would do it. I protested at first, not knowing what was and wasn't allowed here. She kept persuading me and I finally relented and I did my first wedidng. From that wedding, people would ask me from time to time, and through word of mouth, people began to recommend me. I was working in a law office at the time for another IMVU member, and he did weddings. He had a flourishing business and began to give me some that he couldn't handle. Around this same time, another young lady that I was making friends with came to me and asked me to perform her wedding. She wanted her ceremony put on voice boxes and not pasted from the chat box. She is the one who actually taught me how to create a voice box. Hers was the first voice box wedding I performed. When I married GoHotGeisha, I got a couple of friend requests. Someone from her wedding came to me when they got ready to marry. They wanted a voice box wedding. And my business really began to grow.
One of the things that troubled me was how consistently people were telling me they either
1.) paid for a wedding and the officiant never showed up; or
2.) paid for services such as invitatinos, wedding photos or video and never received them; or 3. Wedding clothing, brides/ bridesmaid dresses, tuxedos,
et cetera.
When you convert the amount of credits one pays on IMVU for a wedding to USD, it's expensive to marry on here.
Lyburtii: If I were marrying, the last thing I'd want is my memory of my wedding tainted by some unscrupulous person who made
