An avid outdoorsman , Chuck Moore jumped at the chance to incorporate the Sportsmen ’ s Alliancecreated Conservation Science curriculum at Kenton High School , and he ’ s delivered a fantastic experience for hundreds of students . His year-long Outdoor Recreation and Conservation class covers hunting , trapping , shooting sports and wild-game processing in the first semester and fishing , lure making , fly tying , hiking , camping and kayaking in the second . Approximately 70 students per semester take one of the five classes offered , and there ’ s a waiting list each semester . Moore has had students process deer and then hold jerky-making competitions , participate in casting competitions with various rod and reel combos , as well as archery shoots , run trap lines and help teach hunter ’ s education . “ The popularity of the class has introduced so many students to a love of the great outdoors that had never experienced fishing , hunting or kayaking before ,” he says . “ We feel that the program has given many students a reason to be excited about coming to school .”

Marquette University / Wolf Patrol
Professor Joe Brown from Marquette University claims that he ’ s just making documentary films about wolf hunting as he embeds himself with Wolf Patrol , which has regularly interfered with wolf hunts in Wisconsin . While the Badger State has a hunter harassment law , and even though that law was beefed up to include monitoring and filming hunters , Brown is exploiting the First Amendment to advance his cause . Citing free-speech laws on public land , the “ documentary ” filmmaker-activist ’ s legal argument could unravel and undermine hunter-harassment laws in all 50 states . Brown won a recent 7th Circuit Court of Appeals case on some of the technical issues argued at the trial level , which now returns back to the district-court level for further argument .
