Some people guffaw at the Sportsmen ’ s Alliance when we say that the avalanche of animal-rights ideology we see pushed in state legislatures , courthouses and at the ballot box every year is a coordinated attack at the national — and even global — level .
The Humane Society of the United States ( HSUS ) runs deep throughout this policy corruption , from every legislature in the country and parliaments overseas to funding court battles and ballot-box-biology warfare . Other national organizations join them , including the Center for Biological Diversity ( CBD ), Mountain Lion Foundation , Sierra Club , Project Coyote and WildEarth Guardians , among many .
These organizations , if not household names , are well known to many in the mainstream , and many of them have suffered image issues over the years . HSUS had a very public “ Me Too ” issue with its now-former CEO in 2018 and has had its perceived mission and finances exposed to many through the work of Humane Watch . Sierra Club and CBD
are unabashedly partisan and leave some in the mainstream with an “ icky ” feeling — some folks might agree with the broad , underlying idea of the mission , but the organizations themselves and their tactics are turnoffs .
So , what do charlatans do when they ’ ve been exposed and the public knows to watch both hands during the charade and to question the ingredients of the snake oil ?
They pivot , step out of the spotlight ( some ) and pull the strings of another puppet to deliver the same message a different way .
