O
ur favorite app at this time is Frontier Heroes. My 11 year old son (5th grade) with Alcohol Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder
loves history. This app allows my son to travel
through American History learning skills needed during
this time period. It is divided up into Eras including Native
Americans, Early America, the Colonies, the Revolution,
etc. At each era he unlocks DYKs (Do You Knows) about
the time period. He has practiced virtual archery (physics),
tomahawk throwing and corn milling. He has also helped
colonists construct simple cabins using available materials
(math). Today he helped Paul Revere ring bells to alert the
colonists that the British were coming. As a certified social
studies teacher (grades 4-12), I give this app two thumbs
up! -- Jennifer DiStefano
S
