WHAT IS MOSSACK FONSECA?
The Panamanian Mossack Fonseca law firm sells
anonymous offshore corporations, known as
shell firms, to companies all around the world.
These entities allow their owners to hide business
transactions from public scrutiny, regardless of
how insidious they may be.

A little over a year ago, SZ said it received the
enormous set of documents from an anonymous
source, who “wanted neither financial compensation nor anything else in return.” The German
paper coined the term Panama Papers referring
to the shady Panamanian law firm.
