Make Your Own Pots at Paint-a-Pot

Visit our cosy shop in Nailsworth and spend an hour or two decorating some pots of your choice. A lovely way to relax for a while and get creative. We stock a huge variety of plates, mugs, bowls, jugs, cup and saucers, teapots, vases and ornamental pieces. Also in stock we have a large selection of Decopatch shapes and materials to inspire you to do either in the shop or take home. Decopatch is a simple form of decoupage and is suitable for children aged six and up. We also sell kits which make perfect presents. Great fun for adults and children alike. Sampling ales at The Bespoke Brewery in Mitcheldean is the height of good taste!

The microbrewery set up by Mike Bayliss almost a year ago on the site of the former Wintles Brewery has special Friday night tasting sessions.

Close to the brewery they have set up a traditional Victorian pub called The Brewery Tap. Once you enter the pub it feels as though you have stepped back to the Victorian times, when the Wintles Brewery was on the site, with its slate floors and barrel vauled ceilings. It’ s simply about creating a traditional pub feel with a good selection of wines and their real ales brewed on the premises and what a choice there is! They are already winners of Gloucestershire’ s CAMRA beer of the year award at last year’ s Postlip Festival with their stout, called Money for Old Rope. This is a rich dark forest stout filled with classic rich dry flavours of malt and grain with deep hop bitterness. Then there is Running the Gauntlet, a full flavoured forest bitter, which has a malty flavour with rich roasted undertones, balanced with a good hop bitterness, with spicy blackcurrant aromas from late hopping. Saved by the Bell is a light hoppy forest bitter, a light refreshing beer with a spicy hop bite and a light floral aroma from the late hop addition and, if that isn’ t enough, there is Over a Barrel, a richly coloured fruity strong ale with a generous peppery finish of goldings hops. The brewery tap is fast becoming one of Mitcheldean’ s worst kept secrets with many people experiencing a Friday night out there for the first time every week.“ It’ s a good way of showcasing the beer and it’ s also a great way of controlling qality, by tasting it.” They do open

His main business, Bespoke Architectural Solutions, which design and supply industrial steel buildings, is based at the same office in Mitcheldean. The brewery started out as a hobby, but Mike was keen enough to invest in his sideline with brand new brewing equipment. A year later, Bepoke has a 5.5 barrel brewing capacity and markets its beers to over 40 local outlets and through a network of nationwide wholesalers. The brewing is done by Head Brewer Steve Williams and assistant brewer John Clayson. Their output is just over 50 firkins a week with increased capacity planned for the future. Among their latest projects, they are planning to bew an alcohol ginger beer.“ We hope to introduce two or three new beers, including a blonde beer and a mild, and hope to achieve steady growth with our enthusiasm, quality and consistency”, said Mike. Mike hopes to do the Forest showcase again this year, and the Abergavenny Food and Drink Festival among other food and drink events. Another great product Bespoke offer is their Bespoke labelling design service. You can design your own label either online or with their in house design team and order as little as three bottles for your special event.
