Beanpole (Дылда) The Clonmel Laptop
Ensemble
Wednesday 26 february
1945, Leningrad. World War II has devastated
the city, demolishing its buildings and leaving
its citizens in tatters, physically and mentally.
Although the siege - one of the worst in history
- is finally over, life and death continue their
battle in the wreckage that remains. Working in
a nearby hospital, two young women, Iya (the
beanpole of the title) and impetuous Masha,
have built a bond partially based around caring
for Masha’s son friday 28 february
As they search for meaning and hope in the
struggle to rebuild their lives amongst the ruins
an extraordinary event happens which plunges
them into further damage. Clonmel Laptop Ensemble is the brainchild of
Tipperary musicians, Eamon O’Malley and John
O’Dwyer, both well-known for their
involvement in the music scene in and around
Tipperary over the last decade. The ensemble is
complete with the talented creative
technologist Sarah Loh and gifted analogue
synthesist Michael Jones.
