Indian Hills Community College
OTTUMWA − Indian Hills Community College was founded in 1966 and serves a district of 10 counties plus parts of seven others . More than 80 % of students attending Indian Hills come from within the 10-county region .
The college offers students the opportunity to complete courses face-to-face , on one of three campuses , online or in a new Live Virtual Learning ( LVL ) format . The college offers more than 100 degree , diploma and certificate options to meet the needs of students and employers across southern Iowa .
The Ottumwa campuses offer arts and sciences courses , advanced technology and health sciences programs as well as skill-building and customized learning courses . The Centerville campus provides arts and sciences and several advanced technology programs .
In 2021 , voters approved a $ 28 million bond referendum that will allow for significant updates to all

These updates include a new academic building on the Centerville Campus , an expansion and renovation to the Center for Fine Arts on the Ottumwa Main Campus , the establishment of a Criminal Justice Training Center on the Ottumwa North Campus , and the expansion of the current Tom Arnold Net Center located on the Ottumwa Campus to create a Student Wellness Center . Indian Hills will also establish a virtual classroom in each of the 19 high schools within the college ’ s 10-county region .
Students attending Indian Hills can participate in more than 40 on-campus club and group activities as well as 16 NJCAA Division I athletic teams . Athletic opportunities include baseball , men ’ s basketball , men ’ s and women ’ s cross country , competitive cheer and dance , men ’ s golf , men ’ s and women ’ s soccer , softball , sports shooting , men ’ s and women ’ s track and field , volleyball , and men ’ s and women ’ s wrestling .
