believe we are at 70 [entries]”, Williams says. “We
have some AMAZING TEAMS coming to participate
in the parade as well as the Drill Team Competition
at East High School later that night.” This year’s
parade proudly presents four parade Grand
Marshals: longtime civil rights activist and social
justice warrior Mrs. Anna Mae Weems; Waterloo
Schools Associate Superintendent, Dr. Stephanie
Mohorne; Associate Pastor Chassidi Martin, co-
founder and co-Executive Director of Royal Legacy
Christian Academy; and Iowa House District 62
State Representative, Mr. Ras Smith.
The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the
corner of East 4th and Donald Streets; move south
on East 4th Street to Sumner St; travel up Sumner
St. to Beech St.; take a right on Beech St.; turn left
onto Oneida St.; and end at Ferguson Field, where
the North End Arts & Music Festival will be held.
Immediately following the KBBG Parade, the
11th North End Arts & Music Fest presents its
free, family-friendly, community-wide celebration
of music, arts, and culture. The Fest was initially
conceived as a venue where local artists could
