Wartburg Knight’s 1976 Royal Homecoming Court of African American Awareness. The BSU Organization of Wartburg College in 1976 was continued to ensure minority/black students be included in college campus activities. The enrollment of Black student’s during this time was about fifty (50) plus students. Most of the students were from Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Texas. A young man by the first name of Donald was very instrumental in organizing the activities and reaching out to other schools to be included. Several colleges joined in such as Luther, William Penn, Upper Iowa were Black students were small in numbers on campus but was open to sharing what our Heritage was about.
