" I understand that my child must go to school regularly, behave well, and pass exams. That part was explained in one of the meetings. But I didn’ t know that if they fail MSCE once, they will be removed from the program.”
— EIP parent / guardian
Another parent commented on the communication channels between themselves and The Sonder Project:
“ The communication is not regular. Sometimes we go months without hearing anything. If there is a problem, it’ s hard to know who to call or speak to directly. There should be a feedback channel where parents can report concerns or ask questions. Right now, we feel like we are just watching from the outside, not part of the process.”

Some parents have reduced the material support they provide for their children due to the perception that The Sonder Project will provide everything they require. A teacher matron described:
“ Sometimes we receive complaints from the beneficiaries that the resources they get from Sonder are sometimes not enough … Some parents might really be facing challenges to help their children but there are some parents who are just reluctant to help. They think all the obligation to take care of their children has gone to Sonder.”
