The Sonder Project installed a well just one minute from their home. Today, everything has changed. The children are healthier and the three eldest now attend elementary school regularly. At home, daily bathing and basic hygiene are no longer burdens, but part of everyday life.
“ I feel more confident going to school now,” says Josef, their eldest.
“ It was normal to bathe two or three times a week,” McLeod says.“ Now, bathing daily is not a burden. With easy access to water, the children go to school clean, on time, and proud.”
With less time spent collecting water and caring for sick children, Witness can support the family’ s farming, while McLeod, who also serves as treasurer of the local water committee, can work more consistently and look ahead to a stronger harvest.
“ The borehole has helped the whole community,” McLeod says.
“ Now people can plan their days and spend time on what matters.”
