Safe Water Changed Everything

In the community of Katera in central Malawi, clean water has transformed daily life for McLeod and Witness Goliath and their four children. What was once shaped by uncertainty, illness, and daily risk is now marked by health, dignity, and hope.

Before the well, the family relied on unsafe sources like the Bua River and a contaminated open well, places shared with livestock and shadowed by constant danger, including crocodiles. Witness spent hours each day walking for water, often with a baby on her back. Their children were frequently sick, missing school as the family made repeated ninekilometer journeys to the nearest clinic.

“ We weren’ t living a life that we hoped for our family,” Witness says.“ We always looked forward to living in a community with access to a safe well.”
