‘ WATER IS HER RIGHT!’ BENEFIT CONCERT SONOMA COUNTY, CA
WATCH JOYCE’ S STORY:
Our second annual‘ Water is Her Right!’ benefit concert was held on March 29th at the Sebastopol Community Cultural Center. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Sonoma County community, we surpassed our fundraising goal— raising $ 16,110— and funding the construction of a new clean water well in sub-Saharan Africa!
The night featured a packed house of 230 guests and an unforgettable performance by FulaMuse, whose vibrant West African folk rhythms brought the crowd to their feet. It was truly a celebration of music, movement, and purpose. Our silent auction added even more excitement to the evening, featuring generous contributions from 13 incredible local businesses.
We proudly premiered our latest mini documentary, produced in partnership with Humans Being Media, highlighting the transformative impact of our clean water initiatives through the story of Joyce Mwale and her family in Malawi. We also honored Coby Leibman and the West Coast Village community for their inspiring fundraising efforts in memory of Malidoma Somé and Sobonfu Somé.
Thanks to the generosity of our Sonoma County supporters, The Sonder Project drilled a new deep-water well in the community of Tingyiri, Burkina Faso in October 2024— helping ensure that‘ Water is Her Right!’ for generations to come!
