2019 THE SONDER PROJECT YEAR–END REVIEW WHO WE ARE The Sonder Project’s Mission and Purpose Our mission is to strengthen communities through food security, clean water, housing, and education. Five years ago, a group of entrepreneurs came together to do good in the world. Our founders recognized the importance of giving back – not just in local communities but around the world. And so The Sonder Project was born. Five years later we have become a movement for people who believe in the power of community and the importance of ensuring basic needs for all people. OUR IMPACT • 217 households served through home repairs post-Hurricane Michael • 9 schools built providing access to education for 1,700+ students everyday • 9 water pumps installed to provide access to clean water for 25,000+ people • 2 irrigated community farms established to increase food security for 2,400+ people • 2 community gardens with an additional school garden in production, increasing food security for over 550 people in Northwest Florida Right: A teenage girl wheels water containers to the Sonder Project well in her community; a common chore for girls her age. 4 5
