THE SONDER PROJECT YEAR–END REVIEW
A MESSAGE ON
Hurricane Recovery
The Sonder Project was in a unique position to
act and assist our neighbors in the Panama City,
Florida area devastated by Hurricane Michael
in October of 2018 thanks to the support of our
local and regional network. To this day, we
continue to address the lingering housing crisis
resulting from the storm by continuing to support
low income households with home repairs.
However, it’s important to recognize that we
are not a hurricane response organization. The
geographic proximity to our headquarters in
Santa Rosa Beach enabled us to effectively
respond, but we do not have the same capacity
or the resources to respond to hurricanes outside
of our direct footprint. Of course, we would look
to act again should our immediate area ever be
threatened. With this in mind, we are proud of
our accomplishments since the storm and remain
forever moved by the incredibly resilient people
we’ve had the pleasure to assist.
