JUPITER

It is the largest planet of the solar system as a diameter of 142,980 km. It orbits the sun every 12

years, Jupiter is a giant gas planet which is made up of about 90% hydrogen and 10% helium.

Jupiter was first visited by the Pioneer 10 spacecraft in 1973. Jupiter has 16 known moons There are four large "Galilean" moons, and 12 small ones. Jupiter has high speed winds that whip by at

more than 400 mph! Jupiter is larger than all the others planets, and 11 times larger than Earth .
