The Society of Children’s Books & Illustration Lovers – Newsletter #3- October 2013
Editors’ letter
September’s meting
sump up
Hello again!
First of all, let me apologise for the short edition of this newsletter. I’m
afraid time has caught with me this time around and I haven’t been able
to dedicate as much attention to it as I’d have liked – I cannot promise
that I won’t happen again but I shall try my best! Life, you know….
In any case, I wanted to at least tell you all about our meeting last month
and also inform you of a number of initiatives that the Society will be
taking part in during the following months which might be of your
interest.
The meeting in September grew to a staggering number of 4 attendants!!
Angela and I had the pleasure to share our evening with Rachel Hodgson
and Liz Perez, both from Stockport Library Services, who told us a bit
about their roles, their everyday jobs and their favourite reads during the
last few months.
Rachel works closely with the Stockport Schools Book Award team and
offered to involve the group with the Early Years nominated books for
this award. We won’t be literally taking part since we are not a school but
it will be fun to see if our predictions match the final winners chosen by
the students…And maybe, if we behave, we might be able to attend their
Presentation Ceremony on Wednesday 30th October. Yepee!!
