Every fest, the onus is on the Department of Photography to come up with an innovative set of props and
wacky backdrops to satiate the BITSian junta's desire for photographs, as memories etched in stone.
However, it’s more of the outstation crowd that's pinning away for these reminders of crazy times with
friends. And every single time DoPy manages to put up a good show. This Oasis, with a budget allotted to
them specifically for the photo booth, they procured props from Delhi, to ensure that the booth was bigger
and better and it’s not surprising how the number of rolls they used has increased, despite the obstructing
giant that is the LAVA selfie booth, which hands out hard copies free of cost.
While the first two days, enthusiastic BITSians and outstis swamped the booth, participation levels were
relatively lower on the third day, on account of the Sunburn EDM night.
The BITS Pilani chapter of the NSS is a very active organisation which puts in an immense amount of effort
to contribute to the well-being of the society in every way possible. This Oasis, with their stall, they planned
to sensitise the fest goers to the various NGOs that have been working towards this noble cause. With
NGOs like Muskaan, Umang, Disha, and local ones like the Amla Birla Kendra, the booth catered to the
shopaholics, while at the same time, ensuring that they did not feel guilty about it, rather very proud. Seven
to eight new NGOs collaborated with them this time, and this goes to show how the response has been
growing over the years.
