In a colloquy with Lee
Horner, CEO of Synzi
What led to the inception of
the company?
Since we launched in early 2018,
our company has evolved amidst a
dynamic, ever-changing healthcare
industry. During that time, we
have developed an award-winning,
integrated communication
platform that goes beyond
traditional telehealth applications
to help healthcare organizations
effectively engage patients across
the continuum of care. The Synzi
platform is equipped with a variety
of communication modalities
(including video, audio, email, text,
and secure messaging) to optimize
engagement, improve health
outcomes and reduce costs.
How successful was your
first project roll on?
One of our first home health clients
was Trilogy Home Healthcare.
Trilogy selected Synzi’s virtual
care communication platform to
improve patient management,
engagement, and care. With Synzi,
Trilogy is able to follow through
on their dedication to delivering
compassionate care to their patients
by introducing technology to get
desired patient outcomes and
reduce hospital readmissions. With
Synzi’s platform, Trilogy’s clinical
staff connects with patients more
frequently, improving patient
engagement. Going forward, Virtual
care is going to be instrumental
in Trilogy’s upcoming patient
discharge program, BEAT (Better
Engagement After Transition). The
Synzi platform is now being rolled
out into additional branch offices
and Trilogy will be able to expand
its reach into 42 Florida counties.
And, one of our first health
system clients was Mary Free
Bed rehabilitation hospital. Using
Synzi’s platform allowed Mary
Free Bed’s specialists to “lay their
hands virtually on the patient”
throughout the care continuum
and across geographies and
facilities. Synzi’s platform enables
the facilitation of timelier, more
convenient care while eliminating
transportation costs and burdens.
With enhanced connectivity,
patients are provided access to the
Mary Free Bed clinician best suited
to address a patient’s individual
needs, regardless of either party’s
location. An interdisciplinary team
of providers can focus on optimizing
