THE SHIRT HORN Mar. 2016 | Page 14

How does it work?  The system is prepared by placing the shirt between the two resting claws. Then, Elsa drives up  to the Shirt Horn which is clamped over the door and swings her arms, one at a time, into the  shirt and moves them through the arm holes. After that, Elsa leans forward, placing her head  through the neck hole (as shown in Figure 7), and pulls on a rope in front of her, lifting up the  dynamic claw and releasing the shirt and completing the process.       Figure 7: Shirt Horn in use    Door assembly  Design Concept  The door assembly is an invertedU shaped aluminum structure shown in Figure 8 which fits  over the top of the door for support and includes wooden supports which extend down the face of  the door with extension points to attach the Shirt Horn and pulley system. The lower end of the  door assembly includes two simple armrests which extend out of the face of the door as seen in  Figure 9.    9
